DIRECTOR

Tim’s ultimate passion is his team at Viden. He believes their thirst for knowledge, commitment to collaboration and drive for excellence are what make Viden stand out in the industry.

He also believes in balance for the team - when their lives are in balance, it makes them more productive within the business. Practicing what he preaches, you’ll find Tim balancing work with a bit of surfing, skiing or biking.

When Tim is not braving the great outdoors or at work, you’ll find him being a sports Dad on the sidelines of Hagley Park or Kerrs Reach cheering his girls on.

DIRECTOR

Mark believes in a flexible, collaborative and relaxed environment for the staff at Viden. He knows this is how the team can offer their best every day.

When Mark isn’t at work, you’ll find him spending time in his local Diamond Harbour community - whether that’s coaching his kid’s sports team or volunteering on the local Fire Brigade. Sometimes you might even find him letting off some steam on a bike track at lunchtime with Tim.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Joseph is a Christchurch local who comes from a family background in construction. He grew up in and around building sites and experienced the heavily changing landscapes of construction in Canterbury post-Earthquakes.

While studying at the University of Canterbury, Joseph joined the Viden team as an Engineering Intern. He naturally progressed his knowledge and skills to practical experience, drawing from the expertise of his colleagues and clients. Joseph moved to Melbourne for nearly two years where he worked on a range of projects including high-end residential dwellings, community buildings, and zoo exhibits.

He is now back on home turf and eager to continue developing within New Zealand, making a positive impact on the community. With a unique blend of both practical expertise and a keen eye for design, Joseph endeavours to deliver projects that balance utility, efficiency, and aesthetic appeal.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Yanina is a Civil Engineer from Argentina. Her career has taken her all over the world, from working on hydraulic designs of bridges and culverts for highways in her home country to designing seismic-resistant residential and commercial structures in California.

When Yanina is not at work, you’ll find her exploring the outdoors and hiking on one of New Zealand’s Great Walks. She has just done the Kepler Track and has the Milford Track in her sights next!

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Marc is a British Structural Engineer with more than 12 years of industry experience across the UK and New Zealand, and is a Chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in the UK.

His diverse expertise spans residential, light commercial, façade engineering, and rail and highways sectors, contributing to projects that range from small-scale refurbishments to large multi-million-dollar developments. Marc is passionate about Structural Engineering and dedicated to delivering efficient and effective design solutions that bring his clients' visions to life.

When not at work, Marc can often be found in the hills; either rock climbing up a crag or peak, riding his mountain bike, or skiing at one of the Canterbury club fields.

CAD TECHNICIAN

Jaya is a highly experienced Structural Draftsperson, working within the Engineering sector in New Zealand for almost 10 years. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge from a Diploma in Architecture, Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering, and her Master of Technology in Geometrics and Structures. As well as over 9 years of dedicated Structural Drafting experience, Jaya has practical experience as an On-Site Engineer in both New Zealand and India.

Jaya is a dedicated member of our team, striving to continuously improve our systems of operation.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER INTERN

Angus first joined the Viden team as an Engineering Intern in 2022 before spending 6 months studying abroad in Colorado, USA. He has since returned to continue his internship with us in 2023, alongside his studies at the University of Canterbury.

Angus is an enthusiastic and dedicated individual, eager to gain practical experience in the field. Under the guidance of our experienced Engineers, Angus actively contributes to the team assisting in structural analysis, design, and detailing tasks.

OFFICE MANAGER

Brittany is the newest member of our administrative team, joining in 2022. Bringing her experience in Project Administration and Estimation from the Signage Industry, and a Diploma in Interior Design from the Interior Design Institute of New Zealand.

Brittany is our all-rounder, she does everything but the engineering. Brittany is your first point of contact, all projects start and end with her, as well as being integral to the day to day running of the business. She organizes our team, coordinates subcontractors, assists with accounts, and manages the office.

ADMINISTRATION

Sarah joined the Viden team in 2019, originating from the design sector with a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design from ARA Institute of Canterbury.

Throughout her time at Viden Sarah has been involved in all aspects of the business. Recently returned from Maternity Leave, Sarah assists Brittany with all things office related, including HR, project administration and accounts. Sarah also oversees the tendering process, procurement of new clients, as well as continuing to develop the Viden brand.
